Beginning Tips

A few ideas for how to get the most out of PrayMyJourney, whether or not you have a Journey to start right away.

Don't have a Journey to start right away?

Here are two ways to start using PrayMyJourney right now.

Create a Small Group

Probably the best way to get started — two-way prayer requests, praying for each other.

  1. Go to CommunityFrom the dashboard, navigate to the Community section.
  2. Start a Small GroupClick “Start A Small Group,” then enter the email addresses of the people you want to invite — your family, a close group of friends, or even just one other person as a prayer partner.
  3. Everyone shares requestsOnce the group is created, have each member create their own prayer requests — you'll be praying for each other, two-way.
Create your own prayer lists

Pray for the people on your own list, and keep your prayers for others organized.

  1. Go to My Prayer RequestsFrom the dashboard, navigate to the “My Prayer Requests” section.
  2. Create a Standalone requestCreate a new prayer request as a Standalone request — no group or Journey needed.
  3. Keep them organizedExample: create a request for each member of your family and each friend in your friend group. You'll be able to filter your requests per person.

The Journey feature is a one-way prayer request to a prayer support team you build by entering the email addresses of its members. It's a great fit for missionaries and others who need to get prayer requests out to people and keep them updated.

Desktop websitevs.iPhone app

Treat PrayMyJourney like your email. A long email that needs real concentration is easier to write on your desktop or laptop. But a short email, or just checking for replies, is often more convenient on your iPhone — especially when you're out and about.

It's the same here. Building a Journey — entering in dozens of email addresses for your support team — is usually easier on a desktop or laptop. But once it's built, short updates and checking for responses are often more convenient on the iPhone app.
