Installing on Android? Read the steps first.
Your phone will show two or three warnings on the way in — including one that says the app was blocked. That is expected, because PrayMyJourney isn’t on the Google Play Store yet. The steps below tell you exactly which button to tap, and which one to avoid.

How to install it
A minute on iPhone, a few more on Android. Follow the column for the phone in your hand.
- Open the App StoreThe blue icon with a white “A” made of drawing tools — already on every iPhone.
- Search for PrayMyJourneyOne word, no spaces. Or just tap the App Store button above and skip the search.
- Tap Get, then open itIt’s free. Your iPhone may ask for Face ID or your Apple Account password — that’s normal, and you won’t be charged.
- Log in with the account you already haveSame email and password as the website. No account yet? Tap Sign up right inside the app.
- Tap the download button above — on your phoneThis has to happen on the Android phone itself. A file downloaded to a computer can’t install from there.
- Your browser will warn you about the fileChrome says something like “This type of file can harm your device.” Tap Download anyway. It says that about every APK, from anyone.
- Open it, and allow this one installTap the downloaded file. Android asks whether to allow installs from your browser — turn it on, then come back and tap Install. You’re allowing this app, not opening a door permanently.
- Play Protect blocks it — this is the step people give up onYou’ll see “App blocked to protect your device”. The only button showing is “Got it”, and tapping it cancels everything. Instead tap More details just above it, and then tap Install anyway.
- What that warning actually means“Play Protect hasn’t seen an app from this developer before.” That’s Google saying PrayMyJourney isn’t on the Play Store yet — not that it found anything wrong. It says the same thing about every app that doesn’t come from the store.
- Open it and log inSame email and password as the website. Everything is already there.
One note for Android
The warnings are normal. PrayMyJourney isn’t on the Google Play Store yet, so Android treats it as an app from an unknown developer and shows you two or three scary screens on the way in. We’d rather tell you that up front than have you wonder. If you’d prefer to wait for the Play Store version, the full website works beautifully in your phone’s browser in the meantime.
Once it’s installed
Say yes to notifications
The first time you open the app it asks permission to send notifications. Say yes and you’ll know the moment someone prays for you or answers your request. You can fine-tune exactly which ones you get — and set quiet hours — under Settings once you’re logged in.
It’s the same account
Nothing to move over. Your journeys, prayer requests, team and groups are already there the second you log in — the app and the website are the same PrayMyJourney.
Your prayer team still doesn’t need it
The people praying for you never have to install anything. They keep replying straight from their email, exactly as before.
Tablets work too
The iPhone download runs on an iPad — tap the search filter and choose “iPhone Only” apps if you don’t see it. The Android download runs on Android tablets as well.
If something goes wrong
- iPhone: search for PrayMyJourney as one word, or just tap the App Store button above on the phone itself. You need iOS 15 or later — Settings → General → About → Software Version.
- Android: you tapped “Got it” and nothing installed. That button cancels. Open the downloaded file again from your Downloads or your browser’s downloads list, and this time tap More details → Install anyway.
- Android says “App not installed”: you almost certainly already have a copy from an earlier download. Uninstall the old one first, then install this one.
- Android shows binary gibberish instead of downloading: your browser previewed the file. Long-press the download button and choose “Download link”.
